Matthew Claudel is a designer, researcher, and writer focused on the opportunities and challenges of civic innovation. He is the co-founder and Head of Civic Innovation at MITdesignX, a new program in the MIT School of Architecture and Planning, where he is also a PhD candidate. He is working with the Boston Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics on experimenting with civic innovation processes. He studied architecture at Yale, where he received the Sudler Prize, the highest award for creative arts.
