Professor Linda Hill Live on

Each month, more than 1,000 TEDx talks are published online from around the world. Each month, a handful of those TEDx talks are featured on, interspersed among the many TED mainstage talks. That’s less than one percent.

This month, Professor Linda T. Hill, the Wallace Brett Donham Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, joins that elite group. WATCH HER TALK NOW.

We’re excited to announce that her 2014 TEDxCambridge Fall talk titled “Innovation is a Collective Genius” is featured on the home page and YouTube channel. Professor Hill advocates in her talk that at the heart of innovation is a paradox: you have to unleash the talents and passions of many people, yet you have to harness them into a work that is actually useful. She offers three keys to overcoming this paradox and building a truly innovative organization, based on the research that led to her co-authorship, with Greg Brandeau, Emily Truelove, and Kent Lineback, of “Collective Genius: The Art and Practice of Leading Innovation” and, with Kent Lineback, of “Being the Boss: The 3 Imperatives of Becoming a Great Leader.”

In 2013, she was named by Thinkers50 as one of the top ten management thinkers in the world. After listening to this talk, we agree. We think you will too. Congratulations, Professor Hill, for this honor!
