Important Information for Attendees
It’s official! TEDxCambridge has SOLD OUT! We’re so excited that you will be able to join us on Friday evening for this event, which promises to be a very unique experience for everyone! Here are some important reminders about the event.
NO GUESTS, PLEASE
Please note that because we have sold out both venues, we will not be able to accommodate guests of our attendees — only ticketed persons will be able to attend the event. If you were hoping to bring a guest and they don’t have a ticket (a friend, children, etc.), we’re sorry to say it’s probably too late, but please ask them to get an application in at http://tedxcambridge.com/apply. We might be able to release just a few more tickets. Thank you for your understanding!
INDOOR OR OUTDOOR, THE EXPERIENCE WILL BE GREAT!
In a few days you’ll receive a reminder email with more information about attending, including details about the venue you are signed up for. Those of you with tickets to the Kendall Square by Twilight outdoor venue needn’t worry about the weather — we have a backup indoor venue standing by in the event of inclement weather.
TIMING IS EVERYTHING
Doors open and seating begins at 6pm for each venue. Our program will begin promptly at 7pm. Talks will wrap up around 8:45 and you’ll make your way to the cocktail reception in the 100 Technology Square Atrium (off of Main Street), where you’ll enjoy gourmet food and great drinks. If you want to take advantage of the delicious cocktails we will be serving, make sure you bring your ID!
There are many ways of getting to the TEDxCambridge venues: car, subway, bike, and you can use any! The TEDxCambridge venues are about a 5 minute walk from the Kendall/MIT MBTA Red Line T Stop, and validated parking will be available for the evening (flat fee of $5) at 800 Technology Square. Your badge will serve as your validation ticket, so don’t lose your badge! Also, do not park in the Draper Labs lot. Use the left entrance, closest to Main Street.
SOCIAL MEDIA TIPS
Speaking of socializing, be sure to share your excitement for the event on social media. Our Twitter handle is @TEDxCambridge if you want to call us out (same for Instagram). Our hashtag is a little shorter: #TEDxC. Tag your tweets, instapics and Facebook updates with that. Photography at the event is welcome, however, video recording of the presentations is prohibited (feel free to videotape anything else, though). If you’re on Flickr, please use the TEDxC tag, and please be courteous and share your content using the Creative Commons “Attribution – NonCommercial – NonDerivative” license. Thanks!
