David Gracer

David Gracer is an English teacher, writer, naturalist, and a few other things, including a zealous believer in the logic of entomophagy. He knows (as does most everybody, when they are being informed and honest with themselves) that insects are a perfectly acceptable and excellent source of nutrition, and the intelligent food choice for an overcrowded planet. They breed prodigiously, develop quickly, and require a small fraction of the resources that usual food-sources do.

David started SmallStock Food Strategies LLC in January 2009. Its mission is to advocate for the development of Entomophagy, the consumption of insects as a viable food source for humanity. SmallStock gives educational programs on the subject, and occasionally caters and imports exotic food insects from around the world.

His work has been featured in The New York Times and on The Colbert Report.

Originally from Westchester County, New York, David’s lived in RI for over ten years and has a wife and a six-year-old daughter.
